The most widely used part of the plant is the flesh or gel found within the leaves. This gel contains various bioactive compounds such as polysaccharides, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, and phytochemicals, which provide healing, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and moisturizing properties.

Lidah Buaya atau Aloe sp merupakan suatu tanaman sukulen yang dikenal karena memiliki daun yang tebal dan berdaging, tanaman ini memiliki banyak manfaat bagi kesehatan tubuh dan juga kecantikan. Bagian tumbuhan ini yang paling banyak dimanfaatkan adalah daging atau gel yang terdapat dalam daunnya. Daging atau gel dari daun tersebut memiliki berbagai senyawa bioaktif seperti polisakarida, vitamin, mineral, enzim, asam amino, dan fitokimia yang memberikan sifat penyembuhan, anti inflamasi, anti mikroba, dan pelembab.
