Following the YPBB 2006 workshop in Watublapi with weavers and dyers they have used the bark in the red dye process. The bark is pounded, combined with Morinda (Buke, Bur) roots and water to produce a red color.
Hasil pencelupan yang dilakukan di studio YPBB menggunakan daun tua hasilnya kurang bagus,ternyata tumbuhan ini sangat sedikit sekali kandungan alumnya.
