Bandotan (Ageratum conyzoides) is a weed-like plant often found in Indonesia. This plant usually grows or is easily found around fields, gardens, yards, roadsides, embankments, and waterways. This plant grows at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level in dry tropical climates and in moist, dry, or sandy soil. This plant usually grows upright or lying down, reaching a height of about 1 meter, and emits a strong, distinctive odor when crushed. Bandotan has characteristics including: upright or lying stems with fine hairs, single bell-shaped leaves with serrated and hairy, compound white or purple bell-shaped flowers, and has a taproot. The leaves of this plant can be used as a traditional medicine for wound healing by pounding or kneading and then applying to the injured area. In the Timor Amanuban area, young leaves are usually processed into vegetables.

Bandotan (Ageratum conyzoides) adalah tanaman sejenis gulma yang sering ditemukan di Indonesia, tanaman ini biasanya tumbuh atau mudah ditemukan di sekitar ladang, kebun, pekarangan rumah, tepi jalan, tanggul, dan saluran air. Tanaman ini tumbuh di ketinggian 1.200 mdpl didaerah beriklim tropis kering dan ditanah yang lembab, kering, atau berpasir. Tumbuhan ini biasanya tumbuh tegak atau berbaring, mencapai ketinggian sekitar 1 meter, dan mengeluarkan bau khas yang kuat saat diremas. Bandotan memiliki ciri-ciri diantaranya yaitu; batang tegak lurus atau berbaring berbulu halus, daun daun tunggal berbentuk lonceng bergerigi dan berbulu, bunga majemuk putih atau ungu berbentuk lonceng, serta memiliki akar tunggang. Daun dari tanaman ini dapat digunakan sebagai obat tradisional untuk obat luka dengan cara ditumbuk atau diremas kemudian di oleskan pada bagian yang luka dan di daerah Timor Amanuban daun yang masih muda biasanya dapat diolah menjadi sayur.
