Leaf and stem are boil and it can produce red liquid. That red liqiud can be use to colouring tuyu fiber (Eleocharis sp). Tuyu fiber is weave to make sapa - basket that use to carry rice and the side disk when going to garden and rice field.
Daun dan batang direbus bisa menghasilkan cairan warna merah yang bisa dipakai untuk mewarnai serat tuyu (Eleocharis sp). Serat tuyu biasa dianyam menjadi sapa yaitu tempat membawa nasi dan lauk saat ke kebun dan sawah.
