The leaves are pounded and later mixed with the roots of Morinda to produce red dye. Tony Cunningham notes that it is possibly an aluminium hyperaccumulator. People from Boti have used the dried leaves for mordant in red dyeing with morinda.
Daun tua ditumbuk dan dicampur dengan akar morinda untuk membuat warna merah, menurut catatan Tony Cunningham kemungkinan ada kandungan alumunium. Menurut orang Boti daun kering digunakan mordant untuk mencelup merah dicampur dengan morinda.
