The tuber is taken and pounded and made cooked in water and the water is used to stiffen the threads (kanji) before weaving. They use Tiro (Taccaceae) to make a white thread brighter which is used as accent in the weaving process
Umbinya ditumbuk lalu direbus. Air rebusannya dimandikan pada benang sebelum ditenun. Mereka menggunakan Tiro (Taccaceae) untuk memutihkan benang.

In Boti the root is used as a glue for making the guitars. They rub the root onto the wood. It is also used as a glue to attach the knife blade to a wooden handle. The bulb is roasted and the inside is what is used as the glue
